I teach K-5 Spanish at an elementary school in central Kentucky. I have taught Spanish for 4 years but I also taught English abroad in Japan and France. I love languages and speak English, Spanish, French, and Japanese.
I see my students (all 600 of them!) I see my students every other day. I use a mix of APL, Kagan, and Whole Brain Teaching in my classroom. I'm starting to experiment with TPRS and CI as well. I love when my kiddos spontaneously shout out in Spanish. Normally, we raise our hands before speaking but if they are producing in Spanish then I don't mind. :-D

I started studying Spanish when I was in the 8th grade and continued on through college. I graduated with a BA in History but didn't think I wanted to be a teacher back then. I soon discovered, however, that the best way to fund my international lifestyle was teaching English. After three years in Japan teaching at the elementary school level I decided to come home, take a few more courses in Spanish and get my alternate certification. I'm proud to teach in a state that values World Language instruction at every level.
Besides travel and foreign languages, my interests also include salsa dancing, reading, and binge-watching Netflix.
