TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for nine years in private, cyber, and public schools. I currently teach high school Spanish and middle school Foreign Language exploratory in Charleroi Area School District near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In addition to Spanish, French, and Italian, I also have experience with teaching English Language Arts and ESL.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I model lifelong learning for my students by participating in the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. This educational community keeps me up-to-date on scaffolding my students' learning, using technology as a tool for acquiring language use, and maintaining a full immersion setting whenever possible.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I volunteer at the Pittsburgh Latino Family Center where I work with a family teaching them English as a Second Language. For fun, I enjoy listening to music in Spanish (especially Juanes and Shakira), reading poetry by Federico Garcia Lorca and Pablo Neruda, and learning new dances, like the Peruvian Marinera.
