I have been teaching for 15 years. Over the 15 years I have gained experience working with people of all ages, in a wide variety of environments. I have been a professional swim couch, snowboard instructor, and martial arts teacher. I am currently the co-founder and CEO of Courage Martial Arts and Fitness in Sacramento, California.
I am an extremely laid back teacher, but equally focused. I have a strong belief that I do not change my students, they change themselves, I simply offer them knowledge, and how I think they could best use it in their lives.I like playing the long game and teaching in a way that sends ripples of knowledge through time within the minds of my students. I'm focused on simplicity, usability, and the accessibility of my curriculum for my students. I am a strong believer in the use of games to teach. I try to keep my classes highly interactive, with multiple layers of learning happening in every lesson. I support a new module of teaching which engages learning through a interactive dialogue with my students vs my dictation of knowledge and a requirement of students to learn my way. I also am a huge supporter of co-teaching.
