While my classroom teaching experience has been primarily first grade, I have also have experience in all elementary grades prek-6. My graduate program experience allows me to understand reading and literacy strategies for all learners including learners form linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds. In addition, my current position in Special Education enhances my knowledge in all grade levels and my ability to reach all learners!
My teaching style varies based upon my student's needs as individuals. Often times within my mostly ELL classroom, our literacy and math instruction is in the small group setting. I believe that all students can learn at higher levels when given ample support at their individual learning levels.
I have been part of our district Curriculum and Design Committee for math and also a district member of our Instructional Canvas Support Team.
My undergraduate degree is in Early Childhood education and I also have my Masters in Elementary Reading and Literacy. My passion is being a life-long learner, which enables me to stay up-to-date on the latest research to help my students be successful.
