I currently have the privilege of teaching Independent Study in a TK-8th grade Charter School in rural northern California. I teach TK-8th grade working closely with parents as they homeschool their children. The highlight of my teaching week is our weekly clubs. We meet weekly for 4 hours teaching groups of TK-2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8 in LA, Math, STEAM, and Enrichment (PE, Music, Art). I also have taught K-4th grade and 5th-8th grade at a small two classroom mountain school. When I first began teaching I taught in a self contained 6th grade class in Merced County. I've been teaching elementary school for the past 10 years and love helping parents and students learn together!
I love thematic units! I love taking something cool and using it as a springboard to teach across all subjects!
I have received various grants over the past decade which I use to fund my awesome activities!
In 2001 I graduated from Simpson University in Redding, Ca. I earned my credential at the end of 2002. I worked as a substitute teacher while attending college and shortly thereafter.
I have four children and a very supportive husband! We love to be outdoors, camp, fish and watch baseball. Go Giants!
