Sam and Karen have over 25 years of combined classroom experience in grades K-5. Sam has been a literacy coach, district trainer, and professional development trainer for an international publishing company. Karen has trained teachers across the country in curriculum and instruction for internationally known curriculum companies. Karen also has experience as a college adjunct instructor. In this position, she worked closely with teachers during their final internships.
Sam and Karen read the research and continually develop and adapt their teaching styles to reflect the needs of students today. Their lessons strive to incorporate the latest strategies and standards being implemented at this time. Common Core Standards are used to design effective lessons while maintaining developmentally appropriate practice.
Sam has authored four children's books, and developed curriculum for a complete social skills program. He has also been awarded Teacher of the Year. Karen has been nominated for PRISM Mathematics Teacher of the Year award. Karen and Sam have both assisted in the development of a national e-Reading and assessment program.
Karen has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Curriculum Instruction and Assessment. Sam has a Master's degree in Educational Leadership.
