TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Celebrating 12 years of life as an Art Educator! 8 years teaching high school art in Georgia, Texas, and Virginia; 4 years teaching college/adult education art classes in Texas; in my 3rd year teaching elementary art (2 in Texas, now in my first year in Alabama)! I have also lead various professional development workshops for both my local school district and state wide conventions.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My training is in design so I often plan projects that have structured steps but still allow the individual to find their artistic voice. I encourage service learning and exploring many different forms of art and also make sure I teach my students that art is not just about PRODUCTION. My goal, as an art educator, is to make sure my students are more aware of and critical of their visual environments even if they do not have in interest in making art for the rest of their lives (as hobby or career)!
