I have 24 years of teaching experience in the public schools of Eastern North Carolina. At the high school level, I taught 9th grade English. Also, I taught World, American, British, Welsh and Scottish Literature. I created a Contemporary Issues Curriculum and I taught Public Speaking. I taught at the Alternative School. I taught part-time at Halifax Community College.
I like to engage students in the learning process with small group interaction. I feel students do well when they can make meaningful relevant connections to their own lives and the world around them. I do believe in project based learning. Also, I enjoy a rich curriculum.
