TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My teaching experience during the last eight years spans from 5th-8th grade. I have taught English, Reading, and Remedial Reading. I was also the Dyslexia specialist for our school's campus for the past 3 years. I am certified in 4-8 ELA-R and ESL.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in conducting hands-on group activities that encourage students to interact with their peers and their learning. I believe that teaching is an art and I incorporate creativity any way I can.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Nominated for Teacher of the Year

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Lamar University- B.S. Education and Arlington University- M. Ed. Curriculum and Instruction

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I was privileged to be a public school educator for 8 years. Now I am a stay at home mom and an active participant in my local church. My husband and I share the role of Sunday School Superintendent. Our job is to choose curriculum that would best fit the needs for the varying levels in our classes, which is very similar to what I had to do in my classroom. I enjoy making crafts, reading stories with my toddler, and pretending to be Ms. Frizzle. (After all, who wouldn't want to take her field trips!)
