I have a MA in Teaching with a focus on Instructional Technology and Literacy from Sacred Heart University I am currently in my 6th year of teaching. In my first year, I collaborated with my administrators and literacy personnel to create a Writing position in my school, teaching Writing full-time to all classes in grades K-6. I have since taught 2 years in Kindergarten and 2 years in 1st Grade. I will now be teaching 2nd Grade.
I believe in experiential learning. I strive to initiate my students into the world as true members of a global community. Even the littlest among us can understand the need to help others. I support their learning through acting as a moderator of structured activities, always adding more rigor and scaffolding so as to encourage their independence.
