I have been teaching high school history since the fall of 2011. I work with students who struggle to read and I also work with students who are college bound. I established the first AP World History and AP Government courses at my school and have been working to raise standards and expectations for my students. I also have some experience in elementary and middle school. I have taken on the advisor role for the student body government.
I believe strongly that students learn from doing. I like to incorporate projects and activities to make learning fun, imbed reading assignments in my instruction, and find visuals to analyze with the entire class.
In 2014 I was selected to be the Social Studies Chairperson for my school.

I love to cook, draw, kayak, garden, work with clay, and sew. Finding ways to be creative is a true joy. I use that passion to create and experiment in my classroom as well and try to making learning history fun for my students.
