I had some students who needed daily monitoring of their behavior in my classroom. I would fill out this rubric with the student often. The pictures helped the student understand what behavior was acceptable and what behavior would not be welcomed

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching high school history since the fall of 2011. I work with students who struggle to read and I also work with students who are college bound. I established the fist AP World History and AP Government courses at my school and have been working to raise standards and expectations for my students. I also have some experience in elementary and middle school. I have taken on the advisor role for LGBT, student body government, high school drama, and the class of 2016 student organizations. HELP ME RAISE MONEY FOR MY CLASSROOM: Check out my Go-Fund-Me project I am hosting. Want to get some iPads for my classroom. Really could use any help I can get. http://www.gofundme.com/vwc2sk

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe strongly that students learn from doing. I like to incorporate projects and activities to make learning fun, imbed reading assignments in my instruction, and find visuals to analyze with the entire class.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

In 2014 I was selected to be the Social Studies Chairperson for my school.
