I have taught 2nd grade for 4 years, going into my 5th year!
As an early childhood educator I believe in providing students with a loving and enriching environment while providing them with the desire to want to learn; “teachers who love teaching, teach children to love learning.” An enriching environment needs to be interactive and engaging. There is a quote that I connected very closely with and it is as followed; “Tell me and I forget. Show me and I remember. Involve me and I understand.” In order to involve children in the learning process the children need to want to be involved. This means the trust between the teacher and student must be made. As educators we need to provide children will the best possible way to learn. This involves the children having freedom to explore new ideas, collaborate, and best of all get involved. It is very important that there is a strong connection between the child, teacher, and parent in terms of communication and involvement. It takes all three of us to achieve success.
