TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Having taught theatre for 32 years, I have created many resources that can be used in multiple levels of both acting and technical theatre classes.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is a mix of lecture, hands-on-learning, scene-building, and ensemble-building with a heavy emphasis on group-based activities and writing.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Portland High School Teacher of the Year 2015-16. Sumner County Teacher of the Year 2015-16. Have written and produced 11 original plays. Have produced at least 2-3 full length shows per year for 32 years.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor of Arts- Western Kentucky University; Master of Arts- Western Kentucky University; Have attended the Tennessee Fine Arts Academy for continuing education requirements.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Married to a very supportive engineering husband who has helped with set building for years. Two daughters: one is an award-winning Marketing teacher and the other is a wardrober for Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas.
