My life has revolved around education and teaching. I spent the vast majority of time in college as an athletics tutor. My degree and specialization gave me a strong foundational understanding of literary concepts. I have since pushed myself to improve as a teacher. I have spent time teaching both 12th grade and 8th grade. I love the unique challenges that come with both grade levels. I love to take the challenging content of the high school curriculum and turn it into something that students can easily digest.Teaching Middle school has offered me the opportunity to experience how much children grow during those three short years. I find great joy in developing lessons that expand their view of the world and their understanding of themselves.
I believe in "Structured Flexibility". I think that a rigorous well-structured curriculum in necessary for student achievement; however, I understand that a great deal of learning comes from those organic moments created by the students themselves. ELA is a fluid subject in which many questions lend themselves to a multitude of answers. I always strive to teach in a way that makes lessons relatable and palpable for young minds so that they love coming to class. I create lessons that challenge students to think critically and analytically.

All of my lessons are formatted in a similar style. I seek to create a minimalistic design in order to better meet the needs of teacher and student alike. I understand that a piece of work must be beautiful in a way that it captures a student’s attention yet simple enough to not waste the valuable recourses that we, as teachers, are provided or have provided ourselves. While they may not be flashy my lessons are effective tools for growth and practice. Thank you for the time you took to look at my store. I appreciate every second of it!
