Although I taught English composition, literature, and creative writing as a college English instructor for over a decade, I have also been a home-school parent and have taught two grades in the K-12 school system. I enjoy coming up with a variety of ways to make teaching core standards not only fun, but also a valuable literary experience. And above all, it should be simple, for part of the point is to help children develop a love for reading and knowledge.
Hands-on, meeting core objectives, keeping things simple, developing a love for reading in students
Not sure what to put here for honors/awards. I have received recognition at various times for teaching.
Bachelor of Arts in Professional Studies (social work) Masters in English Training certificates in online education
Since I am no longer in the classroom, I test my curricula in the classrooms of friends, relatives, and former co-workers. When they find a common core standard that they need met, I get to work and create what they need.
