My teaching experience started in a dual 4th/5th grade enrichment classroom setting. After a district change, I found myself teaching 4th grade inclusion. I currently teaching 4th grade ELA and Social Studies.
In my classroom, we run a student-led environment, where I serve as a facilitator. I believe in students discovering their own knowledge and sharing it with others. I think reading and writing is important, and anything taught in isolation will quickly be forgotten. We read together, write together, discuss together, and collaborate to solve problems within our classroom, school, and community.
I have been thankful to be able to lead school and district wide professional development in a variety of topics.
I received my undergraduate in Elementary Education (1st-5th Grades). I also have my Masters in Curriculum Instruction and a Reading Specialists Certification. My education comes from Louisiana Tech University.
My husband and I met in college and were married in 2015. Shortly after, we adopted an adorable puppy. We love to hike, travel, update our home, spend time with our friends, and play games! In my spare time, I enjoy creating craft and art projects, especially trying something I have never done before.
