TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My name is Amy Sierzega and I specialize in teaching elementary, early childhood, and instrumental music. I have taught elementary and instrumental music for seven years, and early childhood music for ten years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a Music Learning Theory practitioner who aims to facilitate instruction that is playful, sequential, supports audiation, and centers student voice, choice, and creativity. I am passionate about technology and emboldening the musicianship of each and every child through justice-oriented practices.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I love presenting practitioner workshops for elementary music teachers! I also enjoy facilitating sessions as a distance learning expert for the National Education Association.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Amy earned a Master's degree in Music Education from Michigan State University, where she also completed her Bachelor's degree in Music Education.

Amy lives in the Ann Arbor, MI area, where she enjoys spending time with loved ones, playing saxophone and ukulele, walking, practicing yoga, and crafting.
