TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a speech and language therapist with experience in Early Intervention and school-based therapy. I currently do in-home therapy with kids at a variety of ages and skill levels. I also do literacy training and am professionally trained in Orton-Gillingham.

MY TEACHING STYLE

With my younger kids, I love to focus on play-based therapy, to encourage basic language development through play. With my older kids, I use a more structured approach, often with a focus on phonemic awareness and literacy skills.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I became passionate about working with children during my time at the University of Michigan. I had the pleasure of working with Cathy Lord on her autism research and became close with many of the families directly impacted by the study. From there, I went to Northwestern University to get my masters degree in Speech and Language Pathology. My experience has varied widely in the SLP field, from schools, to homes, to hospitals. I find that I love working with students of all ages and stages. My true passion is finding better ways to cater my therapy to each child or adult's individual needs.
