My experience with teaching has been in the middle school setting where I taught 7th and 8th grade English/Language Arts for over five years. I taught a variety of levels, modifying my instruction and lessons as needed. I also spent an additional two years as a Reform Coach Facilitator working with teachers on ‘Best Practices of Teaching’ to improve student achievement through rigorous lessons designed to teach grade-level standards.
As a teacher, I experimented with different teaching strategies developing an approach that I felt comfortable with and maximized student engagement and learning in English. I considered that my students all learned differently, so I tried to tailer my instruction to meet their needs.
