Authors are artists and literature is art. While they don’t use paint brushes or charcoal pencils to depict and connect ideas and images, one can decode and decipher their written passages in a manner that reveals the multivalence of text. The

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

21 years teaching high school English! It's funny how it just goes and goes and goes. :-) I am always evolving -- on purpose!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I'm obsessed with Shakespeare and computers, and I really work on both brains. We get into deep analysis of words and ideas and figurative language, and I also experiment with Minecraft and Snapchat and Mixed Reality. I love working with students to write hardcore multi-draft academic research papers and I also love getting them to write gritty poems in alleyways.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I hold National Board Certification in Secondary School English Language Arts. I also recently scored in the top two percent for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) in writing.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have decided to continue my education and will soon become Dr. Sanders with a doctoral degree dissertation focusing on New Pedagogies in Digital Learning Environments.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I love my wife, my son, and our dog. I skateboard and make lots of jokes. I don't have enough hours in the day to make all the songs and movies and novels I have in my head, but I will just keep having fun no matter what. :-)
