I have 13 years of experience teaching in elementary school. I've been a homeroom teacher as well as school-wide art teacher, which is what I do now.
I try to have the kids doing as much as possible! Usually in my units, I'll have a mini lesson where the kids learn what they need to know to plan or create for that day, then the guided work is the majority of the lesson. I include relevant artists in each unit as well as important art vocabulary for skill development and transfer to other settings.

My favorite thing about being an art teacher is to hear the students say, "What are we doing today?" with anticipation as they see me in the halls or as they enter the art room. I hope these resources can bring plenty of excitement to your students' experiences in art!
