I am currently starting my second year at a great school in East Texas. I began my teaching career at a small and wonderful private school in Fort Worth as a math and science teacher. My husband and I then moved to East Texas to be near his family and I started at a small school teaching Chemistry, Physics, and Anatomy & Physiology before taking my current position as a Biology and Physics teacher at a larger school in the area.
I am a very hands-on teacher. I like to present the material in a variety of ways and encourage students to interpret what they are learning. I do not believe in copy and paste and a lot of my classroom time is spent helping students learn in such a way that they can teach their parents/friends/siblings what they learned that day in their own words.

I graduated from the College of Charleston in 2008. Although I have always loved science, I did not want to be a teacher until after I graduated. I spent time teaching English (not my best subject) in China before returning to the states and working towards my teaching certificate in Composite Science Education grades 7-12.
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Bryan since November of 2014. We have an amazing son, Eli, born May 2016.
