TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hi! I'm a speech-language pathologist in the schools. I work with a wide range of preschoolers (although the majority of my preschoolers are minimally verbal and/or have autism). The other 2/3 of my caseload consists K-6 students who are in general education classrooms, but need some additional support. I love this mix, and it definitely keeps me on my toes!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have two goals for every session.
1. To target skills that are relevant to the student's world (whether it be requesting a favorite food or being able to produce a cohesive narrative)
2. To keep students engaged (in order to facilitate more effective learning) - Incorporating movement and keeping students accountable are two strategies that have worked wonders!

I also believe that all students can learn. It is up to the team of educators to find ways to "unlock" each student's potential. Sometimes it is a long and winding road, but each student deserves to take that journey.
