I have been working as a speech-language pathologist in a variety of settings for more years than I care to admit. Of all my jobs (adult rehab, state health department, university supervision, diagnostic clinic, county AAC consultant, private practice), my passion has always been with working with school-age students. Presently, I am a full-time speech-language pathologist at a low SES elementary school. I developed Literature-Based Language Lessons to de-stress my work life and provide more structured and contextualized language intervention for my students. I hope these units will do the same for you!
My specific areas of interest include literature-based language intervention, augmentative communication, and technology.
2013 Master Teacher Recognition: Springfield School District I have written and received grants from local, state, and national organizations. I am most proud of receiving a grant from NEA for funding a working group to develop literature-based language lessons for my school district.
I received both my bachelor and master degrees in speech-language pathology at the University of Utah.
I have enjoyed working in Utah, North Carolina, Louisiana, and Oregon.
