TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have worked in public elementary schools for 6 years. I started out as a Substitute teacher when I was finishing my bachelor's degree at Old Dominion University. I graduated in 2015 from ODU with my Bachelors in Special Education grades K-12. I have been a Special Education Teacher in VA for 3 years now in an Intermediate School serving exceptional learners in grades 3rd-5th grade. I have taught many different styles of learners, including LD, OHI, Autism, Gifted & Talented, Deaf/Hard of Hearing, ED, and many more exceptional learners. I love the daily challenge that comes with being a SPED teacher because it keeps me on my toes & gives me a daily challenge to become my best version of my teacher self :)

MY TEACHING STYLE

I take pride in being a teacher. I work on activities that help build the "whole child". Being in the area of Special Education has taught me how to be flexible & prepared for each day.
