TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Fifth year K-8 art teacher in charter school setting

MY TEACHING STYLE

FUN -- I like to incorporate art making with art history, encourage critical thinking and discussion with open-ended answers. I cover everything from architecture to prehistoric art to contemporary art -- methods, materials, artists. I cover a bit of everything with teaching kindergarten through eighth grade. :)

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Graduated from Penn State with high distinction (B.S. in Art Education with a minor in Art History)

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Attended Pratt MWP Art Institute my freshman year of undergrad, where I completed my foundation art courses. For the rest of my undergrad, I studied at Penn State University, where I graduated with high distinction.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I'm a newlywed, living in central Pennsylvania... addicted to Pinterest and working in a charter school teaching K-8 art. I love designing my own curriculum and making art meaningful to students.
