TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught ELA for the past 22 years in North West Missouri. My experience includes: ELA 9, ELA 10, ELA 11 (my favorite, but don't tell), Career Prep for 12, Creative Writing Poetry & Prose, Creative Writing Film, IB Theory of Knowledge. I have also taught professional graduate courses for Baker University for the past 7 years including Multicultural American Literature and The Creative Process.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I try to find ways to make ELA more hands-on, more interactive, and more engaging for students. With high expectations and meaningful & rigorous assignments, my students know busy-work does not equal learning. I provide a conferencing method that allows for individualized student attention which my students appreciate.
