TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a speech therapist that has worked in the public schools for over fifteen years in Georgia and Florida. I modify the curriculum for many of my language impaired students in the general ed classroom, so that they can successfully participate during inclusion. My current focus has been in training and developing materials for my fellow speechies in our school system on social language. It is a paradigm shift for some, but what a great opportunity to learn together and support our students!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I encourage, challenge and love my students (and fellow slps).

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Teacher of the Year for my school in 2007.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I attended the University of Central Florida for undergrad and graduate school. I continue to educate myself through trainings and workshops around the country. I am currently a lead SLP in my school system and I have spent the past two years developing trainings on social language, including RTI, assessment, goal writing and therapy.
