TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a full time middle and senior high school teacher for 5 years. I have taught social studies, English as a second language, and English to grades 7-12. I am currently working at an International Baccalaureate (IB) School in Vancouver. It is a rigorous program that is highly demanding on both teacher and student. I enjoy challenges and create tasks that embody the concept - let the students show what they know. We are not here to trick them with tasks, but are providing them with the skills necessary to develop creative thinking and original thought.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I strongly believe in student centered learning. My classroom is a safe environment where students are encouraged to take an active part in their learning. I like to integrate technology into my classroom whenever possible (my room is equipped with a SMARTboard, which my students and I love)

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have been featured twice in my local newspaper as a highly ambitious and inspiring educator.
