TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hello!

My name is Bec Oakley, I'm an autistic writer who's been helping parents and teachers to understand autism for nearly twenty years.

Along with the resources on my website Snagglebox.com, I've presented many webinars and workshops for schools and nonprofits, and written a popular children's book series about disability. I’ve also won several writing awards, been interviewed by BBC News and Babble, and my work has appeared on sites like The Mighty and Expert Beacon.

So how do I know so much about autism? Lots of reasons! I'm autistic myself, and I have two wonderful autistic kids who are now awesome young adults. I also majored in developmental disabilities in my psychology degrees, taught behaviour modification at university and have worked in autism research.

I really enjoy helping people to understand more about autism, and I hope the resources in my store give you lots of support and ideas about how you can create positive experiences for your autistic students.
