I teach high school science, and work to develop biology and chemistry curricular materials.
Science should be both hands on and minds on. Science is dynamic, not a collection of facts to be memorized. When students analyze data, discuss results, and test ideas they become scientists. My classes are planned so that students are using their brains every minute!
I have been a presenter on standards based grading at professional development in Boston.
I did my undergraduate work in chemistry at MIT. After graduating, I decided to become a teacher and then completed a master's degree in education at UMASS Boston.
