I am currently teaching first grade in an English/Spanish dual language program, but I have previously taught kindergarten, first grade, second grade, fifth grade and sixth grade. It seems like quite the jump, but I love how the little ones are blank slates, and you can really converse with the big kids. If I had to pick, first grade is by far my favorite!
I am upbeat and energetic in the classroom, but my overall teaching style varies based on the needs of my current class.
Teacher of the Year runner-up Alan Barton Excellence in Teaching nominee
I attended California State University, Fullerton, where I received of Bachelor of Science in Child and Adolescent Studies and my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I also have a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University, Portland.
I was born and raised in sunny southern California, where I began my teaching career. San Diego is also where I met my hunky husband, a sailor in the United States Navy. Shortly after we were married, we relocated to coastal Mississippi, where we lived for three years before returning back home to San Diego in summer of 2016. We have two adorable Boston Terriers, Reptar and Penny.
