My teaching career began in California as a kindergarten and then first grade teacher. Later, while living in Alaska, I implemented a gifted education pullout program for second graders. Upon moving to Colorado, I was a private tutor for kindergarten through sixth grade, and I spent a great deal of time as a parent volunteer at my own children's school. For the past thirteen years, I have been back in the public school sector as an intervention reading specialist, a health instructor, and both a first and third grade classroom teacher. My experience journey has been varied and enriching.
For me, the personal connections I form with my students are critical. I am a diverse, dedicated, imaginative teacher that nurtures life-long, learning as I teach with humor, energy, kindness, and dedication.
In Colorado, I have continually been nominated by my community for Apple Awards. I also was selected to be a Digital Educator with my district.
I possess a Baccalaureate Degree in Liberal Studies, a M. ED in Curriculum and Instruction Technology, and a vast repertoire of professional development course work. I have held elementary teaching licenses in Alaska, California, and Colorado.
My family is my greatest treasure!
