This is my 23rd year teaching Spanish at a high achieving public high school in upstate NY. Prior to that I taught ESL in Madrid, Spain for three years. Over the past decade I have been dedicated to teaching the Pre-AP Spanish courses (4 Honors and Regents levels) and the Spanish 5AP course. Over the years I have developed many successful strategies that have prepared my students to receive AP credit for their respective colleges every year. I know that the resources I can provide will not only help you prepare your students to be successful on the Spanish AP but will also prepare your students to be highly prepared for your course, in college and in any experience that will bring them to a place in the Spanish speaking world. I know because I have witnessed it year after year with my own students.
I like to take a hands on approach to teaching and learning. The best way to truly learn a language is to experience it as much as possible by using it in the classroom through speaking, reading, writing and listening activities. I strive to create lessons that encourage and push my students to constantly produce something with the language.
