TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching 7th grade science for 6 years in the beautiful lowcountry of South Carolina! In addition to teaching I run student council, and coach middle school softball.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is very laid back. I like to keep things relevant with my students, and am constantly searching for the next best thing to share in my classroom. I am learning how to incorporate technology into my daily classroom... it's a work in progress! I enjoy utilizing cooperative groups into my lessons whenever possible. If students have the opportunity to talk about it with one another, they remember and learn so much more than being lectured.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Rated a "Highly Effective" teacher by the state of South Carolina for the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 school years.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelors Degree in Middle Childhood Education Grades 4-9 Content Area- Science and Mathematics with a Social Studies 4-6 add on.
