I have been a special education teacher for eleven years--it is my passion! I have taught students who range in disability from mild to moderate to severe cognitive and physical impairments. I also have a lot of experience teaching students who are on the Autism Spectrum. Most of the content that I teach focuses in the area of functional life skills, social skills and behavior modifications.
I believe it is so important to get to know each student and their INDIVIDUAL needs. It is also important to figure out how to adapt to the many changes and every day demands in our special education programs. Using positives is how I manage my classrooms :)

I attended Illinois State University for both undergraduate and graduate studies, both in the area of Special Education.
I have worked with individuals with special needs throughout most of my life, both in teaching and many years of volunteering. Working with individuals with special needs is one of my greatest passions in life! I also really enjoy creating resources to help kiddos and their families. I hope you find these resources helpful as well!
