I have been working with students with special needs for the last ten years. I have worked with a variety of age groups from high school to pre-k. I currently work with students at the elementary level in a resource setting. I am the lead special education teacher and function as the department chair for Exceptional Student Services (ESS) in my school.
My teaching style is very organized. I use a lot of technology such as a SMARTboard/ACTIVboard, iPads, netbooks, and personal computers. My students use a lot of manipulatives and hands-on activities. I tend to break concepts down into steps and simplify the process as much as possible so students can spend time learning, analyzing, and synthesizing material.

I serve a variety of exceptionalities in my classroom from a variety of grade levels in K-6. We are a little bit like an 1800s classroom with the variety of levels in my classroom at any given time, and I am always on the lookout for ways to differentiate instruction!
