Currently I work as a special education teacher where I have a self-contained classroom for students with ASD. I have also worked in many other classes and have experience in 2nd grade, 4th/5th resource, head start, preschool, middle school resource room, and high school self contained class. In addition, I taught at a middle school in Germany on a military base through the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA).
It is my belief that every child can succeed when given the tools and supports that they need. I help students to succeed by personalizing their learning experience to suit their individual learning styles.
WMU Presidential Scholar in Special Education
I attended Western Michigan University where I earned a Bachelor in Special Education with focuses in Learning Disabilities, Cognitive Impairments, Early Childhood Education, and Language Arts. I then went back and earned my Masters in Special Education with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder.
I am a 20 something teacher trying to change the world one student at a time!
