I am currently an 8th year Special Education Teacher. Prior to this, I spent 5 years working in a corporate environment as a trainer/education consultant. I have a Masters in Education with an emphasis in Special Education. I am currently a Special Education Teacher, Transition Coordinator, College and Career Readiness Coordinator for all students, and the Academic and Career Planning Implementation Lead, New Teacher Mentor, and Program Support Teacher. I have developed the transition programming at my school and am constantly innovating our services to students through new class offering and curriculum. I am involved in two counties "Community Conversation on Transition" boards and have presented at a statewide Transition Academy for teachers, parents, students, and support programs.
I am a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to Special Education Services. My first job allowed me the opportunity to create 7-12 CD/ID program. I utilized methods of the TEACCH program, vocational skill building, and structured teaching to better serve my students. For the past 6 years I have been involved in several roles including co-teaching, supportive classroom management, pull-out instruction, alternative education, and transition services with students of all abilities through cross-categorical licensure.

During the 2012-2013 school year, I was a 7-12 CD Functional Skills Special Education teacher. I spent the school year creating and developing this program due to its previous non-existence. It was been a spectacular journey with its fair share of bumps, tears, victories and growth for all of my students and myself. I created a solid foundation for continued program for development. The 2013-2014 school year has taken me to a new program, building a transition program (life and work skills) for students with SLD/EBD/Autism/OHI.
