TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a special education teacher for six years in a public high school setting. My experience includes teaching inclusion to students with learning disabilities, teaching modified inclusion to students with intellectual disabilities, and teaching self-contained to students with learning, intellectual, and emotional disabilities. The majority of my focus has been English, but I have done Environmental Science and will be doing more math in the future. I have also taught university level courses to graduate and undergraduate students on the art and science of assessing students with disabilities.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style utilizes research-based instruction that is proven to work for students with disabilities. Active Student Responding strategies are critical in my classroom. I am also a strong advocate for project-based learning where it is applicable.
