TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a Behavior Technician for almost 10 years. Prior to that I was a SPED Instructional Assistant, mostly working with students who are on the Autism Spectrum (K-12).

MY TEACHING STYLE

Student-Centered. Person-First. There is not a "One size fits all" for any child, especially when it comes to students with special needs. I try to make my visual and behavior supports specific for the student who will be using them, so it is relevant to to them and in turn helps them be successful in the classroom and beyond. For classroom management systems, I work with the teacher that will be using them to tailor them to their classroom.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Attended CSU, Monterey Bay for Liberal Studies with a minor in Adapted Human Movement. I did not finish my first time around and recently have returned to complete my degree so I can move on to Graduate School to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Human nature and behavior has always intrigued me. I love working hands on with students as well as providing support for teachers. Over the years I have made many visual supports, social stories, and behavior management tools, both generic and specific to the teacher's needs for their classroom.
