I am a Speech-Language Pathologist currently working with grades PK to 6th in a Title 1 Elementary School. I also serve two self-contained classrooms for students with significant intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.
I'm pretty laid back and like to follow the child's lead when leading therapy. However, I do have expectations and expect my students to be on task during therapy! You have to listen with more than your ears! I love finding new and innovative ways to target their goals. I am a huge fan of EET, Social Thinking, and many TPT SLPs and Bloggers.
I was a presenter at the 2012 TSHA convention.
I received my B.S. in Communication Disorders from Stephen F. Austin State University in December 2008 and my M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of North Texas in May 2011.
I live with my husband and son in the Lake Highlands area of DFW. In my spare time, I watch too many historical dramas, cook, bake, and play video games.
