TEACHING EXPERIENCE

In my 8 years experience, I have taught 2nd, 5th, 6th, Reading Intervention (k-5), been an Instructional Coach, STEAM/Makerspace teacher (tk-5) and mentor to pre-service teachers. As a firm believer that all students deserve a top-notch education, I have always chosen to teach in Title I schools. My students have been diverse in race, socioeconomic status, and cognitive ability. I have taught in southern California (Long Beach, Compton, and South Gate), Phoenix, Arizona, and Dallas,Texas. I am also the owner of Tinkering Toddler Crates LLC, a subscription box for toddlers and preschoolers.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am loud and energetic and I would like to think I am creative too. My style of teaching stems from the idea that I need to know my students and their families extremely well in order to push them to their full potential and to know where they are coming from. I think learning should be fun, so I enjoy creating educational games.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Nominated for the Distinguished Teacher Award in 2015 before having my baby boy.
