As an ESE teacher for over 16 years in Florida, I taught primarily grades K-5, children on the Autism Spectrum. At the end of the 2015-2016 school year, I went on leave to tutor children with special needs and teach children's yoga full time. I am a provider for the Gardiner Scholarship/Step up for Students which offers support and funding for homeschool families of chidlren with special needs. I love that I can use my teaching skills to combine creativity, social skills, self-acceptance, and physical activity to give children ways to deal with stress, increase focus and self-regulate their emotions.
My multi-grade VE classroom has always been diverse, with students from a variety of backgrounds and language needs due to ELL and language impairments. I always incorporated visuals, structure, social skills, language and literature rich, hands-on learning and technology to reach students in a variety of ways. I also incorporated the students' personal interests as much as possible, especially in research and writing projects.

As a family, we are venturing into RV traveling fulltime. While we travel, I will continue to create yoga sequences and social skill supplements, offer online tutoring, and in-person tutoring assessments when we return to Florida quarterly. I also teach children's yoga classes and events "on location".
