I have been a speech language pathologist since 2005 and worked in several settings but my favorite is the elementary school setting. I love being a “center/station” in the classroom and its easier to do that with my little ones. I am able to identify communication weaknesses sooner and provide intervention that leads to better academic success.
My style changes as my students’ needs change. Our job is different with every student that walks through the door so I would say my style is flexible.
My shining moment has been hearing the first word of a previously identified “non-verbal” student. At the time I had a tendency of saying “Awesome!” to frequently so to my surprise that was his first word! It has been years since that moment happened but it was a wonderful moment. I no longer over use "Awesome" though :)

I am a school-based speech language pathologist. I began making some of my own materials to better address all the needs of my very diverse student groups. I hope that these items can be of use and bring better language and communication skills to many, many speech kiddos.
