I teach general biology, honors biology, and AP Biology. I have 10 years of experience teaching biology at the high school level and 2 years of experience teaching introductory biology at the community college level.
I am an innovative teacher always trying new things and I try to incorporate technology whenever I can. I am currently trying to convert my curriculum from a teacher-centered approach to a student-centered approach.
Science Teacher of Promise Award; Adjunct Faculty of the Year Award
I have a B.S. in Biology + Secondary Education, a M.Ed. in Science Education with an emphasis on Biology Curriculum and Instruction, and I am currently writing my thesis to earn my M.A. in Educational Technology.
I have a love for writing curriculum and creating the content. I am extremely OCD and feel the need to remake old worksheets to make them more appealing to the eye and I am constantly making changes to my own worksheets, assignments, and projects. My co-workers call it the Clelland touch. We laugh when I'm asked to hang a poster or flier and I feel the need to either redo it or add something to it to make it better. The running joke is that everything needs the Clelland Touch or needs to be Clelland-ized :)
