I have been teaching since 1998. My experiences include: homeschooling, tutoring, volunteering, teaching in private schools and teaching public schools at all levels K - grade 12. I currently teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade intervention classes in Berthoud, Colorado.
Hands on , relevant and differentiated.
My most cherished teacher moments include difficult conversations with students about grades and achievement, helping them set personal goals, nurturing and facilitating their attempts to achieve them, and celebrating accomplishments. Finally, knowing one has put forth their best effort as a teacher when a student seeks you out to tell you that if it hadn't been for you he/she wouldn't have graduated from 8th grade. Those are my most cherished awards and honors.
Master's in Special Education and Intervention
I've lived many places around the world and love to travel. I have four sons and a daughter, ranging from ages 12 - 21. Working with my own children has given me a chance to try new things and experiment with "out -of -the- box" approaches to education. Each of my own children's unique approach to learning, knowledge, understanding and exploration has given me the passion to find multiple new ways to engage those difficult to engage students, hence my love for Special Education.I truly hope these resources can be helpful to you as well.
