I began my experience as an educator when I was around four years old. Back then, my stuffed animals made very compliant students, given the fact that they could neither object to the "facts" I was teaching them, nor actually produce any work for me to look over. I continued my career in teaching once my own children were born, starting in 1998 when my first son was four and I began homeschooling him. In the coming years I had three more boys, all of whom I homechooled until 2009. In 2009 I decided to get a formal education as a Special Education teacher., and was immediately hired by the school I did my student teaching in in 2012. I currently teach Special Education classes at the middle school level in Language Arts and Math. I also co-teach Language Arts and Writing.
This quote by Benjamin Franklin summarizes my teaching style. "Tell me and I will forget. Show me and I may remember. Involve me and I will learn."

My life adventures have taken me to many parts of the world. I have thoroughly enjoyed the exposure and participation in other cultures. Countries I have lived in include: Japan, El Salvador, South Africa, Zaire ( Republic of Congo), Denmark, Italy, and Belgium. In my free time I love hanging out with my family most of all, but I also enjoy reading, writing, hiking, traveling, cooking, camping and scuba diving. I love working with children, and only wish I could be consistent in writing down all the amusing and education things they say that make me smile.
