"out of the box" thinker in creating innovative classroom activities, literacy stations, readers, and other useful items for the foreign language classroom and now through the K-12 curriculum! I hold a Ph.D in Curriculum and Instruction, and have been teaching Chinese, Spanish, ESL since 1992. These days, I spend a lot of time developing classroom-friendly, standards-aligned games in partnership with real gamers. Since I make the games by hand, I can accommodate individualized requests (differentiation, anyone?) including custom games and special decks.
Student-centered, focusing on mastery and as much repetition as needed. Particular emphasis on Comprehensible Input.

My first love is language. I've studied more than ten, including some "interesting" ones like Hawaiian and Mohawk, and am professionally trained as a conference interpreter. I'm interested in applying the leverage of socially-mediated learning to rote items and providing opportunities for repetitive practice that don't feel repetitive -- or like practice!
