So many great things have happened to me as a teacher! I received an anonymous referral to Who's Who in American Education. Students have gone on to become missionaries in Spanish speaking countries. A 1:1 aide who spent two years learning Spanish alongside her student in my room was able to make a connection at the base of the Eiffel tower with a German speaker by speaking Spanish with her. (Neither woman spoke English as a first language!) But the best day was when a rather "hard-boiled" student left me a note saying that because of Spanish class he wasn't giving up on school. What could be better than that?
I attended college on a full tuition scholarship. I trained as an elementary education teacher majoring in Spanish and minoring in art and psychology. I hold a BA in Spanish and an MA in Liberal Studies focused in education and Spanish.
